Socializing In The Summertime For Fun & Business

After the recent heatwave here in NY things have gotten busy with summertime fun. I noticed that it has set the tone for people to be more personable in their social media lives. I've also had a few really nice meetings with business contacts in a relaxed setting and see that my social media friends are also in a different mindset. Some people still talk business 24/7 but that may just be RSS feed or a spambot. LOL

I'm planning for a salon demonstration coming up in the next ten days to a mainly Spanish group of cosmetologists and hope that we can get our message across to them. There are some new resources from corporate but I believe they are mostly for marketing, not so much for business building. The beauty division is very popular for the Latin community and with International Convention coming in three weeks I'm sure we'll have more tools for the expansion into that market.

As for real socializing, there have been parties, bbq's, and just fun times with family and friends. My birthday was right after the 4th and I was able to squeeze in two key meetings that are always at the beginning of the month that I am really glad that I didn't miss. One was for Market America, our monthly Suffolk County presentation, and the other was a Meetup.com group focused on sharing information in a kind of Mastermind Roundtable setting. I think someone should keep minutes for that one since it is jam-packed with strategies and tools that everyone can use for growing business in both a local and internet format.

I am also studying Facebook Marketing a bit more for my MA business and the repair shop. It seems that with one million new users joining the network every week that this is a platform to establish an identity on. Social Media has taken marketing to the next level and is a way to search or connect with any company's target market, simply because people share their information. I believe that mass marketing where a one-size-fits-all mentality is soon to be obsolete. Market America always focused on Mass Customization for product sales but it also applies to the business model thanks to the plethora of industries within it.

Can't wait to see the webportal updates and redesign which was previewed by a select group of distributors in Queens recently by our COO, CEO & Senior VP. That's what I love about this company, our own leaders step out there in person and present the information along with their heartfelt vision of the next growth step. Can't wait to hear about it!
