Networking Again For Business & My Mother's Day
Hey, I've been getting myself out of the routine here at home and recovering from a nasty upper respiratory infection. I downed a lot of Ultimate Aloe and Immune supplements along with some homeopathics that helped the initial speedy recovery but this cough is lingering. I forced myself to attend a networking meeting last week for Cinco De Mayo with a colleague and met some really great local business people. My voice is still kinda raw so I can only imagine how I sound to them and on the video clip!
A few of the networkers I met connected with me via social media and one even added me to her newsletter already. One of the organizers, Bruce, even gave a quick lesson on utilizing FB for business which inspires me to finally set up the page my own which I've been putting off. I hope these new friendships can help all of us grow professionally, and personally too. New friends that are looking to help charities and other fellow business owners by sending a referral is always beneficial, so I plan to do my best to be the first to send prospects their way. I was kinda put on the spot that night and didn't even mention our family repair shop, thinking back on it, I really should've since no one else had that resource. The pre-owned car sales is such a big chunk of our income these days that I shouldn't neglect it and make it be part of my intro. Note to self: write up a new "elevator speech".
There have also been some wonderful new contacts via Facebook too that surprised me. I friended some longtime friends that lost touch with our family in addition to both Peter Facinelli and Kristen Stewart of the Twilight Saga. I see that their pages are kinda new to FB and hope they don't find my family and business drip marketing a bother although other fans post lots of stuff on their wall. I do my best to be cool about it on m y page and not too bold with product or recruiting promos but I'd certainly like more of my friends to shop and partner with me so they can save more and I can earn more. Kristen's page has less than 200 people and Peter has about 5,000 by now but I'm sure their many Fan Pages are astronomical in number. These seem more like personal pages that I found and not the typical Fan or Group pages. I hope to get to know them better there vs. what is in the general media. The next movie, Eclipse, will be out in June so I hope to gain more insight into their experiences since I'm such a big fan now, especially since Kristen played one of my all-time idols Joan Jett in The Runaways movie.....still have to get that soundtrack!
Speaking of music I also have to learn more about the MA entertainment division, Conquer, so that I can better explain it to some musical prospects. The business model is new to that industry but it's a mirror of the UnFranchise and is actually incorporated into what I do as another specialty, much like the health professional program Nutrametrix. The fundamentals of how an artist signs up as a partner with their producers, managers and other professionals boggles me a bit. I get that they keep their rights to the music but how do they participate in the management performance compensation plan and get promoted? I must view the completed presentation sometime this week.
Today for Mother's Day, I spent the day with my crew. Hubby ran out and got bagels then we hit the movies to see Iron Man 2 (very cool sequel) and ended our night with a family dinner at The Main Event, a sports restaurant with good eats. I'm stuffed with Triple Play Alfredo with mixed spinach and plain fettucine and broccoli with both shrimp and chicken. I definitely have a mountain leftover for lunch tomorrow. Yipee.
I also can't wait for Mercury's energy to quit being an annoyance, thankfully it will go direct by the 12th and then progress can again be made in areas that are feeling stopped up which seems to be in an ongoing lesson for me. Some heavy astrology is forecasted for next week, gonna have to keep my eye on that potential and make it beneficial for us somehow. Time will tell.
