Investing In A Motives Career With A Market America Business Partnership
There are so many reasons why people want to strike out on their own as entrepreneurs & the beauty industry is a great way to launch a new career. I've never seen so many ads on Craigslist for beauty services like I do now! Start-ups & home business growth in general is booming & yesterday CNN had a news story about work-at-home-scams to caution the budding business wannabe. I haven't seen the clip yet & don't see it on CNN.com but a friend of mine told me about the story.
Even though a home business is a great way to earn extra income for the average entrepreneur, the items or service for that business must be a match for the individual's interests. Why would someone represent something that they either knew next to nothing about or didn't have any experience with? Those people have to make the time to do their homework & further their business acumen with classes or books to make more educated decisions that can impact their success.
It makes sense to research your potential enterprise & not just believe that postcard invitation for the next hotel seminar promising quick riches or listening to your long lost friend that thinks you're perfect for their company.....no matter how little they know you. Did you know that more people plan vacations than they do their actual careers! And much to everyone's disappointment selling is the key to making money when you become an entrepreneur. Every business must make some sort of transaction of time & effort or merchandise moving to a someone like a consumer or business, otherwise it's a scam to make money with no effort or product!!
There's a saying that "Nothing happens until something is sold" and in today's economy with the credit freeze & lack of consumer spending for a myriad of reasons its just proof why the economy is in a recession. It's my belief that government spending is not going to fix our situation, only when the people feel like they have some financial stability will there be economic growth again.
As a traditional small business owner in the automotive industry, I've seen firsthand how people aren't traveling as much as our sales are way down & customers are faced with chosing to perform less preventative maintenance on their vehicles. Nowadays many car owners give up their leased car, opt to buy a used car under $5k or just wait until something is broken & strategize how they can schedule necessary repairs over time. Many shops & dealerships are closing all over the place...but part-time business is still going steady & gaining more interest.
My online customers have also gone longer between orders for mostly the Isotonix nutritionals & I don't harass them to reorder. I know that they want what they want when they want it & simply stay in touch. The makeup users are also more likely to curb their purchase so it's really a great thing that the new Motives collection is priced lower, even though the company has vastly improved the quality of the entire line. I can't wait to get my catalogs in to share with everyone!! I got started with MA because of Friction Free, the engine additive for increasing gas mileage & improving emissions because of my husband, Motives & the nutritionals were just a side interest that he figured I could manage on my own since I liked natural health & beauty anyhow, it matched both our interests!
Our beauty customers are getting a fantastic deal for their money, whether they realize it or not, Motives has been redesigned to be better than Chanel & YSL yet be in the same range as Smashbox & MAC. (Please note that we have NO affiliation with any other designer brand regardless of what some people are saying about Motives!! & I've seen our own consultants post erroneous statements about that, shame on them) BTW- I love the new eyeshadow palette so much that I made it my icon on Twitter!!
Well I have to say, it's been a crazy past two weeks with the kids off for ELEVEN days for Spring Recess, yeah.....it felt like the vacation that never ends! Today is their first day back. I had friends come from Wisconsin to stay with us a few days--actually they are my personally sponsored distributors that specialize in Motives, whom wanted to see NY & get caught up with me. Family was also in town from the Carolinas & also from Connecticut. One night we had 8 people sleep over!! And of course, I finally succumbed to a bad sinus cold that has left me hoarse which was not good for my Motives training the other day, I'm still draining from that. I was just marveling the week prior that I made through the whole winter with no bad colds or bronchitis, even the kids were healthy this time.
Now things are picking up with some major beauty industry events coming up. Next weekend is the International Beauty Show & I am looking forward to buying supplies for my trainings, networking & taking in a class from NCA along with a makeup class that I've bookmarked. My Custom Beauty Meetup.com group has a few attendees RSVP'd for us to meet on site so it'll be fun to see my group members from NYC that don't get out to our gatherings. And we're in the planning stages for TheMakeupShow.com for May that I'm co-organizing with another Motives Trainer. We already secured a booth but I think we need to create a notebook for our tasks & keep track of who's staffing. It also must be promoted to the NY area so that we can get a big turnout of visitors.
My plan is to have some Motives Overviews set up too along with the other trainer that we can plug beauty industry contacts into. I think a self-created powerpoint will be necessary & I have lots of ideas for flyers. I can focus on the SalonRetailProfitSystem.com info that'll show newbies, freelancers & salons how to invest in their own future by partnering with the Motives brand. They don't have to buy an entirely new makeup set up but of course they need to commit to having some product & doing something to promote the product to earn the additional income but getting started with Motives is certainly a lot less money than one semester of college with the incredible education of entrepreneurship & time leverage found no where else in business. If you know someone looking to get into the beauty business or know a salon that wants to boost their retail income, just drop me an email & we'll check out their potential.
I'll probably post more later since this blog is really about me thinking out loud most of the time, hehe. I hope the rain stops soon.....last night we had heavy rain with some rumbles of thunder. I slept really good.
