Thoughts On Starting An Internet Business Without Any Web Or Technical Skills
People are wanting to make more money in this tough economy & sometimes they don't know where to start which is probably why I've seen more ads. Perhaps the most affordable & popular concept is to open an internet based business that doesn't require much technical skill. Unfortunately there are so many ideas for people to start their own business these days that it's kind of overwhelming & there are many well disguised scams out there to avoid. It's gotta be hard for people to tell what's legal/illegal & if it's a phishing ploy to get info. Researching companies, products, services & all sorts of marketing tools can seem never-ending but finding something that taps into skills & hobbies that someone already loves will help them focus & succeed in finding the right one.
Just look at the Inbox & Junk folders for your email to see how many of these get rich quick schemes are out there trying to capitalize on wannabe entrepreneurs. Whether its selling a single product, a mall or B2B services, ultimately something must be sold! How else can money be made? There isn't a business out there that doesn't have some sort of transaction somewhere for income to be created & it doesn't matter whether it's someone's time & labor or an actual purchase of an item. It's what really makes the economy work & right now that is the kind of "stimulus" the world needs more of to get out of the global recession.
An easy solution that's doable for the average person is found in the Direct Sales, Network Marketing & Internet Marketing industries & I love that MA is a combination of all three with the power of franchising! Folks can be web challenged & learn some skills directly from the company training system, or me if they want. Sure they can do eBay or learn on their own to blog and monetize it with Adsense, widgets & links for affiliate programs to earn income, or they can partner up with marketers in Joint Ventures(JV's) to share marketing tools that promote items to each others' contact lists. Some people turn into Affiliate or JV junkies and that's the ONLY mail you ever get from them with their latest "offer" which ticks me off. That gets tagged as spam after a while which is probably why they have to find the next big thing to promote & I lose respect for them.
I also think its incredibly expensive & time consuming to build a web business from scratch but it's an option and I prefer to tap into a proven system that has everything in place, I just have to market it. This type of business opportunity, the UnFranchise, is a great way to earn extra income with part-time effort & minimal start up. Ya know I see more people that I know online now than ever before & they're handing out business cards at get togethers or inviting friends & family over for home parties. I also have noticed more websites in my contact's signatures & profiles on social networks and some of them even have multiple business links. Some good, some not so good. More people join Facebook, watch YouTube & get addicted to Twitter everyday & the statistics are showing that those people are looking for opportunites to make more money.
Amongst my friends & family I'm one of the only one that has a home business. Most of them are employees or small business owners that aren't looking for something more out of life or have had bad experiences with previous ventures. Regardless of that, right now my UnFranchise business is getting busier than it has been in recent months & more people are asking to see what Market America can offer them. It's not for everyone but it's great fun just checking out the possiblity & finding out if MA is a match. I take delight in showing them how to save money by shopping on my webportal & earn rewards toward free MA stuff so even if they don't register they can at least learn how to channel their everyday shopping into something that is beneficial. I love the flexibility in my business to do multi-tasking for both e-commerce & one-to-one marketing, it's so much fun too that colleagues have called it the UnFranchise "the FUN-Franchise", hehe.
I'm also enjoying promoting the new Motives collection & am booking a few events to help more volume move thru my organization. Spring is coming & so are festivals, weddings & Mother's Day. MA has been around since 1992 & pays us on volume not on how many trainings we do or partners are in the group like that Shop__Earn company allegedly does. (Does Madoff ring a bell?) The more I learn about them the more I question their ethics & longevity as a company...but whatever.
People: do your research! & if it sounds too good to be true, you know the saying, it usually is!! Don't drink the funny Kool Aid!! Visit sites like wahm.com, the dsa.org, or whatever resources you can find pertaining to that product, service or industry.
I found yet another excellent YouTube video from the recent Market America conference in Miami (that was just featured in the Spanish People magazine), check out this one it's like a 3 minute commercial that I'd absolutely love to see on tv...
Ask me when the next Market America UnFranchise webinar is & we'll see if it's the right business for you!
