Spring 2009 Plans & MA Trainings To Come For NY Metro Area
I've had lots of stuff going on around me and am finally posting a blog to update my readers.....and keep myself on track! hehe There are a bunch of trainings for MA coming up besides my next set of Motives certifications. Actually let me backtrack first to last weekend when I attended an excellent event for the UnFranchise business by some mid-West trainers with a few guests. This couple REALLY gave some fantastic business building how-to's for us to incorporate immediately & filled in the blanks for my guests that are learning the basics right now.
They always tell us that it's better for people who know you to hear it from someone else because they don't listen to you as well as a stranger.....well, it's so true!! I really just plugged them into the MA training system to learn the UnFranchise fundamentals & these events are packed with practical tips for new & old business owners to use. My guests are very excited now thanks to that event. The trainers presented the most interactive afternoon that I've ever seen & were accepting Q & A from the attendees later in the day. I really loved their format & priceless information.
As for what's next, there is a much anticipated event in Connecticut the following weekend with our lead Motives trainer from corporate!! I'm so excited to be going up there to see firsthand what the new Motives Overview presentation for salons & beauty professionals is going to be like. We've been wanting an official presentation from Market America specifically for the Motives division & they finally updated the data with a whole new approach. As the local trainer for my area I will be expected to conduct these presentations on my own for the local NY team so this will be a great way for me to get it straight from the get-go.
I'm also excited about the upcoming International Beauty Show(IBS) in Manhattan happening at the end of April. There are several classes for salons to boost their revenue with retailing systems on the program this year that are a perfect match for what Motives has to offer!! I've been studying marketing for salons to better prepare myself for expanding my business in this area. Traditional business owners, like myself, usually understand the bigger picture and look to implement new ideas that appeal to customers & increase the value of the services offered & ultimately their bottom line.
The intriguing thing about bringing the Motives concept into a salon is the fact that not only is it a private label & not sold at retail locations like most of the other salon brands nowadays but that there's a high end quality & customizable aspect to the products PLUS it's powered by a backend system with commissions for additional financial earnings that become a residual income as time passes. That is such a powerful concept that never been offered before in the beauty industry!! (Ask me for the audio on this if you know a salon looking to boost revenue)
This is going to be a great time for a Motives themed salon retailing system that is presentable with a PowerPoint for illustration. Meanwhile, the renovated Motives by Loren Ridinger cosmetics are finally all available......and a gorgeous countertop display has just been announced for ordering!! Its the same design as the pic I posted in an earlier entry. That display will be a perfect way to present the collection in a boutique or demo area at a salon. I have ordered the line in increments & plan to get another set of items next week. New kits keep debuting & my students, along with some colleagues, are so confused about what to get for their consults. I'm expecting a big order to arrive today actually....in about an hour.
The next items on the agenda are the Spring Motives makeup certifications for consultants. I've been approved for April 19th & 20th, yes-the 20th is a Monday, I had to bump it over a day because of the strict new requirements to keep all of the area trainings far enough away from the major corporate sponsored events like the upcoming NY District Conference on May 9th in Queens that's going to have half a dozen trainers, including a few members from corporate---which is a first!--conducting an all day event. So now when I plan for my classes they must be orchestrated around those kind of high priority trainings. That's going to be a powerful day too!
