My First Week Into 2009 & I Have Been Busy But Not As Productive As Planned
I have so many ideas, plans & things going on for various projects but I feel like I should have more accomplished by now. Maybe I'm over analyzing but several objectives that I had prioritized just haven't happened, like my final goal statement, even though I've been working on it. I didn't even do my Christmas cards this year and I'm home most of the time! So what have I been doing? My energy is low and I have been dwelling on some issues, that I'll admit to.
At least we've got the ornaments off the tree and it can go out today although I must store the ornaments and try to condense the selection to less than 4 boxes of holiday storage instead of 6. My annual financials have to get done too, especially inventory before I lose track of what arrived after New Year on the worksheet that some colleagues recently shared with me that really helps document everything, including my earnings from the classes I've taught & any incured expenses.
Today JR sent out an enlightening blog post, or statement? or lecture?, I don't know what you want to call it but it's long and takes a good 15 minutes to read but he share's his thoughts on how MA is still growing while the economy is experiencing the repercussions of greed that imploded the economy's financial structure with more fallout showing up everyday. He went on to explain how MA's internet shopping is growing & we're partnering with tons of merchants and creating the ultimate multi-dimensional web presence to attract even further growth and incentives for new customers. The music service will get an official launch party with some celebs & mini-concerts, that'd be so cool to see first hand!
The climax of the new developments will be happening in Miami next month at the World Conference, formerly known as Leadership School. I am really hoping to stay the extended time to take in the new Motives events that make it a six day event and even though flights from NY to Miami are cheaper, the hotels are what kills my budget. It helps when you have roomies to share expenses but when you arrive early and stay later than others then it adds up. I must find out where out team is staying and whether or not my usual travel buddy has a decent arrangement again, which she typically does & I enjoy her company.
I may get my brother-in-law and his friends to visit me at the event & get him to see where the company is going now, he'll be in the area for other reasons and we discussed it already. He's very interested in the UnFranchise business but timing is off for him to start anything. He'd do exceptionally well at B2B services by selling websites and loves better quality stuff, probably due to his profession, he's a PGA Golf Pro, so product wouldn't be an issue.
My other challenge, that concerns me greatly, is getting coverage for our kids while I'm away. Our regular friends that I rely on have gotten busier and my family is no longer as available as they used to be. My son is working at a auto dealership now and they're strict about days off and as a result my husband has been bound to our repair shop too. Gotta figure out something!! And soon...
