My Goal Statement For Career, Financial & Personal Success

I've been jotting down notes about what to include in my new goal statement for 2009. There are several areas that I am striving to master and setting short range goals will be very useful and show me the progress that I make or illuminate where I need to reconsider or fine tune. Mostly my career & financial areas are the focus, I must say everything is great with our family. We don't bicker or argue over any challenges, my husband discusses things loudly sometimes but we tend to rely on each other and not get do what we see other couples do. I guess that comes from being together for over 25 years.

As you may have learned in other entries, I like utilizing the Law of Attraction and other metaphysical resources for helping me focus. Over the years I've gotten into the art of Feng Shui for color and symbolism with strategically placed household items that are very personal in their meanings yet somewhat ordinary to the untrained eye. I look forward to the upcoming year of the Ox in February and have been reading my favorite FS website for tips.

I also like to consider the energy of the stars with astrology, I do not believe in predicting outcomes but knowing the trends or vibes of the cosmos is definitely something I've come to find synchronicity in. We see it everytime there is a Mercury retrograde at our repair shop because that time frame tends to have more business for us than usual since it's about technology & mechanical issues or breakdowns & my hubby asks me when the next one is coming if the bays are slower than normal. So that's another tool helping me select my goals and timing for them.

Perhaps the biggest thing is for my new statement to be real, heartfelt, yet actionable & doable. What good are these goals if I don't take action on them, then they are only wishes that will accomplish nothing or make me feel inadequate if they're set too high. With perhaps every business owner follow up with customers is the biggest challenge besides getting new customers which tends to expend more energy and money than keeping in touch with exisiting or previous customers and better follow up is on the list for me.

Market America's business has a high conversion rate of customers turning into distributors to either buy their product at cost or discover that they can earn money with product they already use and create an extra income. There are so many success stories like that just visit our distributor profile website to read some. I'd like to see a promo for customers to convert, maybe a mini-video that could entice them with why they should consider upgrading to registering with MA. Sounds like something I could make a flyer for & try out on my customers for growth.

Although, expanding with new business partners is a top priority I find it a challenge because Motives still is relatively unknown & MA is getting a few plugs but not outright advertising, at least not until after the World Conference in Miami this February. Mind you I studied Commercial Art, my mom worked in publishing & my aunt is a retired Art Director. MA should be able to secure some prime advertising slots because of the downsizing and bankruptcies of many major corporations, even the top publications are lighter than usual. The January issue of Allure was so thin I thought it was People magazine!!! I read an amazing article on affordable ads for smaller businesses recently that I'll hyperlink if I can find it again.

Speaking of ads, funny how everyone I've been talking to lately is saying how sick they are of seeing the Amway commercials and ads, hehehe. I even see them online, ugh! They are snagging the younger crowd that never had exposure to them before, I know of three people who's kids(young adults) that have gone with the big "A". Let's hope the MA & Google partnership launch has something NEW that everyone wants to learn more about without promo overload........although I'd like to see that for a while too! A distributor like me can only hope.

Almost a half an hour to go until 2009!! Gotta crack open the champagne, see ya next year!

UPDATE 1/01/09 @ 1pm!!
One of my Twitter friends posted a thoughtful link to a blogger's suggestion to create a 3 word goal statement which I love! Keeping three words in mind to remind you of your overall goals is easy to remember and can be applicable in various situations. For instance a few words that I'm considering are: Ask, Execute, Grow, Engage, Leverage & Inspire. Now to select only three words that can best describe my goals besides my written out goal statement that I also am still working on. Our next team meeting is this Saturday so it must be ready for then......Happy New Year!
