"Have A Filter or BE The Filter" Is the Saying For Water Filtration

How sickening. The news about pharmaceuticals in the drinking water of many states is all over the place now. I think they want us to be "Medication Nation" and somehow the general water supply in this country is showing this kind of residue with all the processing plants and water filtration in our communities. How is this possible??!! Thank you to the "AP" for investigating this and creating awareness. (Is that the Associated Press "AP"?) Hmm.

I'm so glad that I have a Market America KDF water filter on our kitchen counter for the last ten years. The re-branded & updated filter is called PURE h2o & is a great product line. I haven't had to get a new one in two years but I'm due later this year for a replacement, probably by summer when our consumption goes up. Although I use it for everything from tea to soup & even our pet goldfish & terrapin(slider turtle) & may need it sooner.

The water in NY is supposedly safe from the drug contaminants but its loaded with chlorine that makes my skin so irritated and dry and.....what drives me crazy........itchy!!!! Not with the MA water filter!! For the longest time I didn't have one in my shower then I heard a testimony at a seminar or on the company voicemail system so I got one and haven't had an issue with dry patches that wouldn't get relief from body moisturizers. Only almond based massage oils would soothe the irritation.

The showerhead filter recently busted off because the cleaning lady forced it to move while trying to clean the shower stall & for a few days of a regular showerhead again, my skin quickly got red and itchy again. (No I'm not a snob that doesn't clean her own house, we hire our friend's wife to help around the house to earn them some extra money for their family of 6) So, my dear hubby ran to HomeDepot to buy one of theirs, (grrrr), and is so happy that its so much cheaper BUT.....I tell you what....the darn thing isn't good enough and I've still got patchey skin. It must filter some chlorine 'cause I'm not itchy but not as effectively as MA's quality filter.

I guess I'll wait a few months to order a new showerhead filter from MA since we've already got this one, or at least until I can't stand it anymore and my arms look red and flaky.

Here's a Yahoo link to the article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080309/ap_on_re_us/pharmawater_i;_ylt=As8AsQF8wIWITgHoafICtndH2ocA

And please, look into quality water filtration for your family. You'll be amazed at the difference. Ask your friends & family to try theirs or perform your due diligence and learn more about the different systems then shop around. Keep our PURE h20 in mind too!
