If Lipstick is Back Then Isn't That A Bad Market Indicator?

I was just browsing the homepages of my favorite sites and saw an article link to lipstick. Maybe the beauty expert meant that its more popular now than gloss which has been more of a trend in recent years. Bad editing? Or maybe she's trying to boost lipstick sales which has been a recession market indicator for decades, indicating a skeptical consumer with small indulgences.

The latest beauty mags, my favorite is Allure, have had more color on the lips of the models than usual. Its either a rich deep red or nude in a creamy or matte finish, that I've noticed. When I actually got to the article I truly expected more but then it was an MSNBC article and what do they know about beauty? And I don't know who their "expert" is anyway. haha

The MA homepage is sporting a new ad for Motives with a Valentine theme featuring the sheer Hi-Color Red My Lips Lipstick but for some reason the model has no color on her lips, I'm confused. Why isn't she wearing it? It left me wondering if that's just a generic shot or if that's really a Motives model. Maybe the flash ad can add the color as its viewed, hint hint...hehe

Anyhow I love the Red My Lips lipstick because its got slightly metallic sheen with depth & is mutable besides being enriched with Vitamins C & E. The amazing trick to this lip color is that it depends on what color lip liner I put under it to bring out the holographic effect. When I use a girly-pink it looks more Fuschia, rich brown and it looks more Burgundy & if I use a brighter red then it of course has more Firey-Red. It probably our best selling lipstick and I hope MA brings out more like it next month at Leadership in Miami when they debut the Spring Motives Collection.

That's why consultations with samples is so important to cosmetics sales. You can read about it online or view it in a catalog and see a very good likeness of the color but the actual consistancy of the product just can't be conveyed in a description. Sometimes there's not enough detail & you can't tell if its a matte, frost or shimmer. That's frustrating. I find that more details for online purchases inform the consumer and there's less likely to be a return. That happens with online clothing purchases too for color & fabric.

Time for me to run some errands..........Happy Friday!!
