Our Drop Shipping Program
Just wanted to add a quick fact that eco-friendly shoppers will like to know about Market America's packing foam which is alternated with paper for some shipments. Most of my shoppers get their order drop-shipped directly from the corporate headquarters to ensure fresh product and fast service so this tip is for you.
Since getting myself to a Post Office on Long Island is very time consuming--even though there are FOUR within a 2 mile radius of my home office--I rarely ship out orders myself. Try getting parking spot in a lot for 15 cars and two dozen people in a rush, then wait on lines that take forever while having a 4 yr old in tow. Tell me, is it just me or am I the only one that gets behind the people that don't know how to ship packages and must be taught by the clerk? And they have a stack of mailings. Ugh!
The point I want to mention is that the foam we use is made from Baking Soda! Its totally biodegradable and washes down the sink easily with warm water. I use our spray nozzle to break it down faster. My girls love to help make it disappear after playing with the foam from my own deliveries. They have fun cooking with it in the kitchen or mixing them in a toy blender with assorted play food. Its really not that bad cleaning up either. Its not like that Styrofoam that breaks up into micro-pieces that you keep finding long after the fact and is not earth
friendly.
I saw something funny at the craft store yesterday, this same type of foam, although brightly colored, was in a big bag for kids to make critters & sculptures with by getting it damp so the pieces stick together!! Who could've thought of that one? We're gonna have to try it one day just see what we can make and hopefully I can remember to take a picture to post here. lol
